Wi-Fi-Enabled Polaroid Pocket Camera Runs AndroidRemember how we said to expect Android on more than phones and tablets this year? Today Polaroid announced a new camera that runs Google’s mobile OS. The SC1630 Smart Camera attempts to import many smartphone conveniences into a point-and-shoot. The pocketable, five-ounce device has a 16MP sensor, a 3x optical zoom lens, but also a 3.2” touch screen display and Wi-Fi/optional cellular data connections. While the SC1630 comes loaded with Polaroid’s own camera/editing app, access to the Android Market means users should be able to download alternatives if they want. |
