Paula Nelson

and the Guilty Pleasures

Sunday afternoon November 21st

She may be Willie Nelson’s daughter, but her latest CD proves that she can “hold her own” in the music industry. Paula has written all of the songs on the album, with one exception—a classic, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You ever seen the Rain?”

We will screen this video at the festival and have Paula and

Director Kerry Wallum and producer David Von Roehm

do a Q & A and talk about making music videos/dvds

"Have you ever seen the rain?" - Paula Nelson and Willie Nelson

from Luck Films on Vimeo.  Executive Producer Willie Nelson

Directed by Kerry Wallum and Norman Macera and produced

by David Von Roehm, and song by John Fogerty

“I had decided I wanted to do it more like ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.’ So I recorded it and I played it for my Dad and he kept saying, ‘This is good! This

is good!’ And I thought, ‘I think he thinks I wrote this!!’ So I said, ‘Yes, this is

good. I sure wish I had written it.’ And he said, ‘You didn’t?’ (Laughs) Then he

told me, ‘I’d love to sing that.’ So we did it as a duet on ‘Little City.’”

PAULA NELSON RELEASED NEW CD LITTLE CITY

AND HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN DVD

Paula wrote all but one song on this album and these are her stories she is singing.  The music is so authentic.  Her voice is more beautiful than ever, and she is supported by the talented Landis Armstrong, on guitar, Mark Epstein, Bass, and Kevin Remme, drums and percussion.  Landis Armstrong is named as producer on the new album.

Paula invited some family and friends to join her on her album, including father Willie Nelson and brother Lukas Nelson, who appear on 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain,' (the only song on the album not written by Paula).  Also featured on this song is Michael Crow, playing accordian.  Everyone who hears their rendition love it more than the original, with all due respect to John Fogerty and CCR.

Amy Nelson sings with her sister on three songs on the album, the cover song, ‘Little City,’ ‘Ready or Not,’ and ‘Riddles and Rhymes.’  Paula invited fellow Texan and friend Carolyn Wonderland to sing and play guitar on, ‘Drink.’

"It's unlikely Paula Nelson sold her soul for good songs, but

Little City just kicked up her stock. Her Nelson moniker has

probably opened doors, but originals "Baby Blue" and "Sunny

Days" keep them propped wide. The loping, wicked tone of

"Rainy Day Friend" sounds much like something her father,

Willie Nelson, would write, while "Drink" suggests that if

Paula went after the Southern rock queen title, she'd

have no equal."
