| Joe Estevez was born on 13 February
1950 in Dayton, Ohio. He is the younger brother of actor Martin Sheen
and the Uncle of Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Renée Estevez and
Ramón Estevez Jr.
As a child, Estevez lived on Brown Street in the South Park neighborhood of Dayton, Ohio. He is one of 10 children, nine boys and one girl, born to a Catholic, Spanish-born father, Francisco Estevez, and an Irish mother, Mary Anne Phelan. Estevez attended Chaminade High School, a Catholic High School located in Dayton, Ohio. Upon his graduation, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy. At the point Estevez began pursuing his acting career, he initially used the name Joe Phelan. Phelan is his mother's maiden name. He eventually returned to using his given name, Estevez. Estevez has been married twice and is the father of three daughters. His second wife is actress Constance Anderson. He is a frequently featured star and co-star of Independent Film Productions. In addition, he has embraced a career as a Voice Over Artist. Joe's acting roots are on the stage. When ever time permits, he returns to performing in the theater. When Martin Sheen suffered a heart attack while acting in Apocalypse Now Joe Estevez stood in for him in a number of long shots and in some of the voice overs.
