An important part of thePDFF is our Salute To Children and Youth, we want to shed

light on the darkness that they suffer in, and honor the film makers that expose their plights...

we're going to screen some new and past documentaries that show the suffrage of children

and youth. We want to single out, and honor some of the great journalist and producers, that

cover these concerns on film, tv, the Internet, and meet some of the directors of organizations,

and create a forum with the film makers.    

In the tradition of thePDFF 1 & 2, Number 3, we will pay tribute to music in film, and especially

music videos and DVDs, and other digital platforms.  As last year, we will honor the musicians,

song writers, producers, editors, and film makers of the great music documentaries, as we

screen and pay tribute to some of these great films of music and entertainment history.

 

Last 2 years we concentrated on tribute documentary films, this year we want to also pay tribute

to music DVDs and videos, past and present.  From the early days of MTV, CMT and VH-1, music

videos became an integral part of the music biz, we want to honor that video/dvd history, from the

Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing", to the great music videos by today's artists, the new evolution in

music is DVDs, VODs, MP3s, and what is being invented today and online for tomorrow...

 

The evolving Digital Worlds are part of the evolution that we're seeing now in the entire entertainment business.  New Media, Social Networking, and the multi-platform delivery of music, film, tv and vod

on the Internet, mobile is the 3rd screen, user generated content, and other innovations that are just

now being released, will be part of the of this Virtual Wild West Digital Film Fest...the future is now,

and we'll take you after the future.

 

The 2nd Paso Digital Film Festival was streamed for 4 hours a day for 3 days...this was the launch

of a benefit we will further develop to help our emerging film makers to reach a much larger audience

than just those that attend the film festival.  With viral marketing efforts, and offering filmmakers a

stage using the new of the Digital Age Technology to take the filmmakers to a much larger audience.

In the early days there were the troubadours and the singing minstrels, then came the medicine

shows to the towns of America...then the tent Shows, rag operas, tent reps barnstormed, and

took entertainment on the road.  Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West Show begins to roll, and we hear

the music "there's no business like show business", then vaudeville, Broadway and the flickers...

In 1913, Cecil B. DeMille rents a barn in Hollywood near the corner of Hollywood and Vine, and

makes the movie "The Squaw Man"...the wireless, the talking machine, and on to TV, and  Video,

Buddy Holly in a plane, some music dies, and Kristofferson and Willie Nelson load up and are...

"On The Road Again"...while the Internet streams a Wild West Digital Film Festival to the world,

from an ancient hot springs town that Jessie James' uncle built here in cowboy wine country...
